In the recent update (Patch 0.211.7) for Valheim's server, a new command line parameter was added to enable crossplay. It is not enabled by default.
Valheim now supports crossplay between players who purchased the game via Steam and those who purchased it on the Microsoft Store.
Your Valheim server's world can be taken offline and played locally. You just need to download the files from your server and place them in the correct location on your computer.
To get started you will need to head over to your Valheim server in our Control Panel and navigate to your server. When you get to your server overview page you will need to navigate to the "Settings" tab near the top of the page.
